Nikos Skoulas

TRINITY Internation School of Tourism Management, Greece

During a time span of over 45 years, Nikos Skoulas has been heavily involved in many facets of managerial activity including food distribution in Canada and in Greece, (wholesale, retail, food service and franchising). For a substantial part of this long period he dedicated his energy to tourism and hospitality, both in Government service and the private sector.

He served the Government of Greece, for an eight year period,  in various capacities including the position of Director of a task force for the rehabilitation of "problem enterprises", Secretary General of the Hellenic Tourism Organization (EOT), Alternate Minister of National Economy and Minister of Tourism.

He has served as the first General Manager of MEGA Channel, Greece’s first private television network, Chairman and CEO of Royal Olympic Cruises, Chairman of the Board of ASTIR Hotels, a prestigious Greek hotel chain, Chairman of the National Tourism Council and Chairman of The Hellenic Center for Investment (ELKE), a public interest corporation dedicated to the promotion and support of investment in Greece. He is a member of several boards of directors.   He is curently the President of TRINITY International School of Tourism Management, an English speaking institution of higher learning specializing in Tourism and Hospitality.

For over twenty years, he has directed the Leadership Laboratory, a management training laboratory which he founded and is the G.M. of NSA - (Nikos Skoulas and Associates) an international business consulting and training services company.

He has written a number of books, articles and manuals on management, tourism and food distribution. He is the author of the book "The Human side of Leadership" and the editor for Andreas Papandreou's book "Democracy at Gunpoint". He co-authored, with Ms. Kyriaki Economakis, the book “Human Resource Management and Development” and was a contributor in the book: "International Human Resourse Management in the Hospitality Industry", published by the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Lodging Association. His latest book “Managing a Small and Medium size Enterprize” was published in 2003.                                 

Mr. Skoulas is a frequent speaker at conferences and symposia in Greece and worldwide and has acted as an Advisor for International and National Associations on Tourism and the Food Distribution Industry

He is the Alternate Chairman of The Hellenic Academy of Taste and a. former Vice President and founding member of “Archestratos”, an association for the preservation of Greek gastronomic traditions. He is also the past Chairman of the board of directors of “Filaios” (the Friends of Olive Oil Club).
