Green Award (Eco Building)
Hotels showing significant efforts to use smart design and inventive
energy efficient building are qualified to submit to the the Green
Award subcategory. IRHA commends all hotels for being part of the
conservation movement and inspiring change. Show IRHA your
establishment's development plans or implementations that meet
current standards with consideration for the future of our planet.

Best Suite
Additional space, amenities, furniture, services, smart design. The
serenity of a suite stay involves comfort and ease. Show IRHA what
your upgraded room does to draw customers and keep the hotel life
sweet.

Family Friendly
From special children’s areas, room layouts, activities catered
to families, holiday events, supervised activities, to childcare
services. Does your hotel stimulate all members of the family clan?
IRHA wants to know why families on vacation should not miss out the
unique opportunities at your hotel.

Best Bed & Breakfast
Bed & Breakfasts mix unique designs and communal lodging to provide
a personalized stay for travelers. Show IRHA the scrumptious breakfasts
you provide to kick off a full day of exploration and what your B&B does
to personalize the travel experience.

Best Water Feature (Pool, Beach or Jacuzzi)
From spectacular, innovative designs and special events to scantly clad
bodies. If your pool, beach or jacuzzi entices guests to relax, get
wet, and take full advantage of recreational facilities, submit your
hotel for consideration.

Best Lobby
Is it the original structures, contemporary furnishings, exclusive
original art or simple, distinct design? A glamorous lobby with
garnishes adorning every wall, or an intimate and comfortable
space to relax tired traveling feet?  IRHA wants to know how
your hotel has designed and decorated your entryway to create an
unforgettable first impression.

Best Hotel Bar The IRHA Best Hotel Bar Award recognizes hotels that feature an
exciting nightlife for travelers. Show IRHA how the design of your
hotel bar and lounge area has created a welcoming environment for
locals and globe-trotters to eat, drink and socialize. Provide a l
ink to your bar menu and elaborate on any happy hour specials, events,
live acts, DJs and singers, special nights and the crowd that frequents
your hot spot.

Best Spa
Peaceful, relaxed, pure bliss. State-of-the-art spas include an
exceptional selection of body treatments, massages and beauty/grooming
therapies. Patrons feel pampered with zero tension in a tranquil
environment and leave feeling rejuvenated. IRHA wants to know how
your spa leaves a distinct natural and healthy affect on the senses
of your guests.

*Best of City
The top scoring restaurants and hotels in each city are recognized
and move onto countrywide considertion. Top countrywide
recipients will be considered with first place hotels and restaurants
from all subcategories for the prestigious worldwide IRHA Grand Awards,
presented at the gala ceremony in November 2008. All Best
of City and Country recipients will be listed in the online
Traveler's Directory. All hotels submitted into any subcategory
are considered for the Best of City & Country program.
If you would like to be considered for citywide and countrywide
recognition, but do NOT want to submit to any other
subcategories, please submit your hotel under Best of City.

Best Hotel Restaurant
The Best Hotel Restaurant Award is an award that recognizes the
incredible one-stop experience. For the frequent traveler, the
best restaurant is usually just a short walk from the hotel room
or an elevator ride away. The recipients of this award have taken
the ordinary dining experience and transformed it into an extraordinary
travel destination with exceptional food, lodging, impeccable service
and elegant surroundings.

Best New Hotel of the Year
Ambitious and fresh new hotels are redefining the rules every year with
never-before-seen designs, rooms, landscapes and restaurants. If the
buzz is big and the A-listers have reservations, then tell IRHA why
your noteworthy newcomer hotel deserves the prestigious title of Best
New Hotel of the Year.Hotels open for business as of November 2006 qualify
for the 2008 Best New Hotel of the Yea Award.

Starting with the 2009 awards season, all participating hotels will be listed in the online Traveler's Directory. All participating hotels are considered for citywide, countrywide & worldwide consideration.

International Hotel of the Year
All hotel submissions will get a chance to receive the IRHA Grand Award of International Hotel of the Year. Once all first, second and third place restaurants are announced in each subcategory, the panel will choose the restaurant that is set apart from the rest. The Jury will consider the first place subcategory recipients and the top scoring establishments in the Best of City & Country program. The International Hotel of the Year provides the ultimate first-rate vacation, where guests receive a world class experience and accomidatons they will never forget.
